Synthesis of α,β-unsaturated ketones via telluronium ylide

Abstract

The condensation of 3 new telluronium salts I (R = p-Ph, p-Br, m-NO2) with aldehydes and ketones in the presence of potassium carbonate in acetonitrile-THF (9:1) at room temperature, which presumably proceeds via telluronium ylides was reported. Using this method, 21 a,b-unsatd. ketones, which are assigned the E-configuration were prepared
