Abstract

The reaction of 3-trifluoromethyl-4-amino-5-mercapto-1,2,4-triazole (1) with aromatic aldehydes gave the Schiff bases(2～5). The Mannich reaction, of 2～5 led to twenty four new 1,2,4-triazole Mannich bases (6～9). The structures of these Mannich bases were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR, ^1H NMR and MS spectra.
