Enzymatic Synthesis of Vinyl Troxerutin Esters in Nonaqueous Medium

Through regioselective acylation of the primary hydroxyl groups in troxerutin, a series of vinyl troxerutin esters were synthesized in nonaqueous medium. The influence parameters such as enzyme source, the amount of the enzyme, solvents, chain length of acyl donors, water content of solvents and reaction time were investigated. The results indicated that alkaline protease from Bacillus subtilis performed highest activity in pyridine with water content lower than 1%. As decreasing of the chain length of the acyl donor, the transesterification reached equilibrium more rapidly and yields were improved.
