Synthesis and Herbicidal Activities of Novel 1,2,4-Triazolo[1,5-a]- pyrimidine Containing Oxime Ether Moiety

2-Mercapto-5,7-dimethyl-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidine (6) was reacted with chloroacetaldehyde or 1-chloropropan-2-one to yield 5,7-dimethyl-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-2-ylsulfanyl-acetalde- hyde or 1-(5,7-dimethyl-1,2,4-triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-2-ylsulfanyl)-propan-2-one) (7). The title compounds 1-(5,7-dimethyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-2-ylthio)propan-2-one O-methyl oxime (9) and 2-(5,7-di- methyl-[1,2,4]triazolo[1,5-a]pyrimidin-2-ylthio)acetaldehyde O-methyl oxime (10) were synthesized by the reaction of compound 7 with O-alkyl hydroxylamine 5. The primarily bioassay results showed that the title compounds 9 and 10 exhibited good herbicidal activity.
