4-Aryl-3-methyl-1-phenyl-4,5,6,7,8,9-hexahydropyrazolo[5,4-b]quinolin-5-one derivatives were synthesized by a three-component one-pot reaction of aromatic aldehydes, 5-amino-3-methyl-1- phenylpyrazole and 1,3-cyclohexanedione using sodium dodecanesulfonate (SDS) as a catalyst in aqueous media. The structures of products were identified by IR and 1H NMR spectra, and the structure of 4e was confirmed by X-ray diffractional analysis.
