Synthesis and Biological Activities of 3-(1′-Alkyloxyimino)ethyl-4-hydroxy-pyrroline-2-one Derivatives

3-Acetyl-4-hydroxypyrroline-2-one analogues (A) were synthesized using amino acid ethyl esters as starting material, which were reacted with alkyloxyamine hydrochlorides to give twenty oxime ether derivatives 3-(1'-alkyloxyiminoethyl)-4-hydroxypyrroline-2-ones (B). Structures of all the new compounds were confirmed by 1H NMR, MS, IR data and elemental analysis. The preliminary bioassay results indicated that this kind of compounds exhibited certain herbicidal and antifungal activities.
