A new equation of state of liqs. is established by modifying the excluded vol. in van der Waals theory. It is extended to correlate and predict the excess properties of binary liquid mixtures The calculation shows that the results are comparable to that of the Flory theory, but the calculation is simpler and the pure-component properties needed are fewer.
