Synthesis and Photoluminescence of Three Novel Ternary Europium(Ⅲ) Complexes

In this paper, three new organic ligands, pyrazino[2,3-f] [1,10] phenanthroline and its derivates, were designed and synthesized. With dibenzoylmethane as the first ligand and these synthesized ligands as the secondary ligand, three novel ternary europium(Ⅲ) complexes were synthesized. The composition of the complexes was confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR measurements. UV-vis absorption spectra, thermal analysis, photoluminescence spectra, quantum yield and life time of the complexes were studied. The effect of the secondary ligands with different structure on the photoluminescence of the europium complexes was investigated. The results showed that all the three europium complexes are excellent red-luminescence materials with good film-formation property under vacuum, which provides a base for fabrication of organic light-emitting devices (OLED) with these europium complexes as red light-emitting materials.
