Cs2CO3-Promoted One-Pot Three-Component Synthesis of 5-Amino-7-aryl-7,8-dihydro[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrimidine-6-carbonitrile Derivatives

A series of 5-amino-7-aryl-7,8-dihydro[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyrimidine-6-carbonitrile derivatives were synthesized by three-component one-pot reaction of 3-amino-1,2,4-triazole, aryl aldehyde and malononitrile in the presence of Cs2CO3 as a catalyst. All target compounds were characterized by 1H NMR, IR and MS techniques. The advantages of this method are simple, convenient and improved yields.
