Theoretical equation of polymeric thickness at PANI film-coated electrode and its experimental verification

本文提出了用于计算聚苯胺修饰电极膜厚度的理论公式,它实用于恒电流法和循环扫描伏安法制得的膜,经验证理论和实验相符合.文中还讨论了PANI密度及摩尔体积的计算和化学测定方法.

Polyaniline films were prepared on platinum electrode from an aqueous solution of monomer containing HCl or H2SO4. Films were grown using a galvanostatic or cyclic sweep voltammetry. The thickness of the films (d) was estimated from the following equation where G is the molar mass of leucoemeraldine, (Qf)m is the faradaic oxidation charge, nf is the no. of electron involved in a redox process, f is Faraday's constant, p is the estimated d. of the film, A is the area of the electrode, g is the roughness factor of electrode. The equation was verified successfully. Experimental results are in good agreement with the theor. values. The observed and calculated values of p and molar volume are listed in the paper also.
