Microcantilever Biosensor on the Biotin-avidin Interaction

The dynamic interaction process of biotin-avidin was investigated by biotin covalently modified microcantilever sensor in real-time in a flowing cell. The specific interaction was confirmed by the evidence that the avidin layer can be mechanically removed with atomic force microscopy nanolithography. The deflection of the modified cantilever increased with concentration of avidin. Microcantilever biosensor provides a good method to explore novel label-free technology and monitor various interactions between biomolecules.
