Studies on fluoroalkylation and fluoroalkoxylation 17. A new method for preparation of 2-fluoroalkyl pyrrole

Abstract

Fluoroalkylpyrroles I (n = 4,6,8) were regioselectively prepared by alkylating pyrrole with Cl(CF2)nI (II; same n) in the presence of stoichiometric amts. of Cu. Tetrahydrofurans III (n = 4,6) were also obtained when the reaction of II (n = 4,6) with pyrrole was carried out in the presence of the radical trap (CH2:CHCH2)2O.
