Synthesis of 2-Aryl-5-(6-pyridazinon-3-yl)-1,3,4-oxadiazoles

The reaction of 1,4,5,6-tetrahydro-6-pyridazinone-3-carboxylic acid hydrazide (1) and 1,6-dihydro-6-pyridazinone-3-carboxylic acid hydrazide (2) with aromatic aldehydes afforded aromatic al-dehyde hydrazones 3a~3g and 5a~5g. A series of 1,3,4-oxadiazole derivatives 4a~4g and 6a~6g were obtained from 3a~3g and 5a~5g by the cyclization with bromine. Their structures were established by 1H NMR, IR, MS techniques and elemental analysis.
