Synthesis of chlorin P6 ether derivatives

Abstract

Nine chlorin P6 ether derivatives (3a～3e and 4b～4e) were designed and synthesized via HBr addition of 2-vinyl of chlorin P6 trimethylester (2), which was prepared through acidic and alkaline oxidative degradation using silkworm excrement crude chlorophyll extracts as starting material followed by H2O, MeOH, EtOH, n-C3H7OH, CH2=CHCH2OH nucleophilic substitution and hydrolysis respectively. All these compounds are previously unknown. Their structures were assigned based on the data derived from UV, IR, ^1H NMR, FAB-MS and elemental analysis.
