Synthesis and properties of bis (triphenylgermanium)  dicarboxylates

Abstract

Twelve new bis (triphenylgermanium) dicarboxylates were synthesized by the reaction of triphenylgermanium chloride with dicarboxylates. Their structure were characterized by elemental analysis, IR, 1^H NMR and MS spectros copy. The IR spectra showed that these carboxyl groups are monodentate ligands in compounds 1～12. These compounds showed the high in vitro antitumor activities in tests aganist two human tumour cell lines, MCF-7, a mammary tumor, and WiDr, a colon carcinoma.
