Abstract

Irradiation of 2-cyclopropyl-2-phenyl-hexamethyltrisilane (I) in the presence of 2,3-dimethyl-1,3-butadiene and n-pentane gave hexamethyldisilane and two expected compounds II and III. Under the same condition, the cyclopropylphenylsilylene was trapped by cyclohexene and then the silirane ring was opened by methanol, and the cyclopropylcyclohexylphenylmethoxysilane was obtained. Irradiation of I with methanol gave cyclopropylphenylmethoxysilane and cyclopropylphenyldimethoxysilane.
