Abstract

A series of disulfonate salt-type cleavable surfactants with a 1,3-dioxane ring were synthesized by the condensation of aldehydes with 2,2-bis(hydroxymethyl)-1,3-propanediol using phosphotungstic acid as catalyst and dimethylformamide as solvent under microwave irradiation, followed by reaction with 1,3-propanesultone in the presence of sodium hydride, and characterized by elemental analysis, IR and ¹H NMR spectra.
