Two new inorganic-organic hybrid LB films of tert-butylcalix[8]arene (Cal8)/octadecylammo- nium (ODA)/molybdophosphoricheteropolyacids (HPMo12, HP2Mo18) were prepared and characterized by π-A isotherms, UV-Vis absorption spectra, atomic force microscope and fluorescence spectra. The experimental results indicate that title compounds can form stable monolayer and polylayer films on the air/water interface. The collapse pressure of the title LB films was 39.0 mN/m. The fluorescence spectra showed that the emission peak during 322~387 nm was due to the π-π* transition in the Cal8 and the emission peak at 510 nm might correspond to the ligand to metal charge transfer (LMCT) triplet emission of .
