  The recent progresses in the $\alpha$-C(sp³)—H bond functionalization of glycine derivatives are reviewed by Zhu, Xiao, Xie and Le on page 2345. The reactions of glycine derivatives with various coupling partners, including C(sp³), C(sp²), C(sp), N, P, S and others, to form carbon-carbon or carbon-heteroatom bond through $\alpha$-C(sp³)—H bond functionalization are summarized, with their scope of substrates and reaction mechanism.
