Recent Progress in the Research of the t-BuOK-Mediated Coupling Reactions to Form Carbon-Carbon and Carbon-Heteroatom Bonds

Potassium tert-butoxide has wide application as a strong base and weak nucleophilie in organic chemistry. In this paper, the newest development of the t-BuOK-mediated coupling reactions is reviewed. The main focuses are the formation of carbon-carbon, carbon-nitrogen and carbon-oxygen bonds. The formation mechanisms of these bonds are discussed in details.
