Cobalt supported mesoporous silica catalyst for fischer-tropsch synthesis

A novel cobalt supported hexagonal mesoporous silica catalyst for F- T synthesis has been developed. The activity in the F-T synthesis, the stability, and the structure changes for the catalyst were investigated.Under the conditions of n(H2):n(CO)=2.00, T=483.00 K, p=2.00 MPa, GHSV=500.00h^-1, this catalyst showed stable activity with low methane selectivity, and high G5^+ selectivity being about 85.00% during 525.00 hours on stream. After 24.00 hours of reaction, XRD at the low angle for the mesoporous silica disapperred, which confirmed that the mesoporous structure collapsed soon in the F-T synthesis, but remained relatively stable afterwards.
