Title compounds I and II (n = 1, 3, 5, 7, 9, 11, 13, 15, 17) were prepared by alkylation of 2-chloro-3-methyl-1,4-benzoquinone with H(CH2)nCO2H in the presence of (NH4)2S2O8 and AgNO3.
