Abstract

Core-shell ZrO₂/SiO₂ composite was prepared for HPLC support material with layer-by-layer self-assembly (LbL SA) technique. The composite with specific surface area of 172.5 m²/g consists of silica microsphere templates as core and zirconia nanometer particle layers as shell. The novel ZrO₂/SiO₂ composite can be a promising HPLC support compared with ZrO₂sphere because of its higher surface area.
