The synthesis and application of doubly bridged cyclodextrins dimer are reviewed based on the summary of a great amount of corresponding literature. The doubly bridged cyclodextrins dimer could be applied to the fields such as biological enzymes mimics, protein mimics, biological cell mimics, constructions of new functional materials, etc.
