Abstract

The catalytic activity of three anion surfactants, i.e. sodium dodecylbenzenesulfonate, sodium dodecyl sulfurate and sodium dodecylsulfonate as anion phase transfer catalysts was studied in Friedel-Crafts reaction of naphthols, benzenediols, p-methylphenol with Ph2CHOH or 4-ClC6H4CHPhOH. The results show that all of them have apparent catalytic activity.
