Syntheses of 5-[5-(3-pyridinyl)-2H-tetrazolymethylene]-2- aroylamino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles

Abstract

A series of new 5-[5-(3-pyridinyl)-2H-tetrazolymethylene]- 2-aroylamino-1,3,4-thiadiazoles 2a～j were obtained by refluxing 1-[5-(3-pyridinyl)-2H-tetrazolylacetyl]-4- aroylthiosemicabazides 1a～j in glacial acetic acid. The compounds 1a～j were prepared by the reaction of 5-(3-pyridinyl)-2H-tetrazolylacetic hydrazide with aroyl isothiocyanates. It is suggested that compounds 1a～b representatives are degraded first and followed by a cyclization in the presence of alkaline medium.
