A vast number of mono-, bi- and poly-dentate phosphine ligands have been successfully applied in asymmetric catalysis. The synthesis and the application of chiral phosphine ligands are continuous central theme in organic chemistry. This review deals with recent progress in preparation and application of phosphine ligands in asymmetric catalysis.
