Abstract

The enthalpies of ionization of acetic, chloroacetic, bromoacetic, and iodoacetic acids in water-DMF mixtures were measured at 298.15K. The entropies of ionization of the same acids in the same solns. were then calculated According to the different effects displayed on the solute-solvent interactions, the results obtained for the acids were explained.
