A stopped-flow inductive kinetic spectrophotometric method for the simultaneous determination of iron and antimony was proposed. The principle of determination was discussed, and a procedure for simultaneous determination of Fe(II) and Sb(III) was established based on the inductive effect of them on the chromium (VI)-iodide redox reaction. The ealibration graphs were linear for 0~1.2μg.mL^-1Fe(II) and 0~2.0μg.mL^-1Sb(III) respectively, and the detection limits were 0.012 μg.mL^-1Fe(II) and 0.014μg.mL^-1Sb(III). The method was used for the determination of iron and antimony in zinc metal standard and simulated sample, and the results are satisfactory.
