Synthesis and Crystal Structure of 3-(4'-Methoxyphenyl)- and 3-(4'-Hydroxyphenyl)-1-amino-3a,4,5,9b-tetrahydro-9b-hy-droxy-3H-cyclopenta[a]naphthalene-2-carbonitrile

-(4'-Methoxyphenyl)- and 3-(4'-hydroxyphenyl)-1-amino-3a,4,5,9b-tetrahydro-9b-hy-droxy-3H- cyclopenta[a]naphthalene-2-carbonitriles were synthesized by the reaction of low-valent titanium reagent (TiCl4-Zn) with 2-cyano-3-(4'-methoxyphenyl)-3-(1-tetralon-2-yl)propionitrile. Their structures were determined by X-ray analysis.
