About the Cover:
Chen, Peng R. et al. on page 53-61: RNA-binding proteins (RBPs) are involved in post-transcriptional gene regulations and affect the operation of biological processes and the maintenance of cellular homeostasis. The RNA-binding proteome profiling therefore provides crucial information for discovering biological markers and targets of diseases. This review introduced an array of RBPs capturing methods from tool development and functional proteome characterization, and finally discussed bottlenecks and future prospects of RBP proteomics.

About the Cover:Zhang, Yuqi et al. on page 9-15: A smart two-dimensional photonic crystal hydrogel shrinks after exposure to Hg2+ due to the coordination of the atoms including N, O, and S on the hydrogel chains and Hg2+. The hydrogel shrinkage decreases the photonic crystal microsphere spacing which can be acquired by monitoring the Debye diffraction ring diameters, achieving the highly sensitive, selective, reversible and fast detection of Hg2+.
