The basic concept and main objectives of green chemistry, especially the organometallic reactions related to green chemistry, are briefly reviewed. The green organometallic reactions covered in this article include solid state reactions, reactions in aqueous media, supercritical fluids and ionic liquids, reactions of high atom economy, and transition metal catalyzed organic reactions. Interestingy, these reactions may lead to give a wide range of organic and organometallic compounds through the enviroment-friendly processes.
