报导了在同位素标记氨基酸不对称合成研究中, 用非标记甘氨酸进行模型试验的初步结果. 在相转移条件下使用(-)-N-苄基辛可尼丁作催化剂, 二氯甲烷作溶剂使N-苄叉氨基二酸二酯苄基化, 合成了89.9%光学纯的D-苯丙胺酸.

D-Phenylalanine with 89.9% optical purity was successfully synthesized by benzylation of N-benzylideneglycine Et ester under phase-transfer conditions using (-)-N-benzylcinchonidinium chloride as catalyst and dichloromethane as solvent, followed by hydrolysis of the resulting product. In the cases of several more polar solvents the resulting D-phenylalanine had lower optical purities.
