This article reviews the development on studies of the conformation of cycloalkanone (n = 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16), even-membered diametric cycloalkanediones (n = 8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20, 22,24, 26) and their derivatives.
