Optically active α-aminoalkylphosphonic acids have been synthesized from optically active α-amino acides. The key reaction step of this experimental process is Michaelis- Arvuzov reaction. The results show that the mechanism of Michaelis-Arbuzov reaction is SN2 mechanism.
