Some new solid state organic reactions have been reviewed in this paper. Most of the solid state organic reactions occur more efficiently and selectively than the corresponding solution reactions, probably because the solid state reactions proceed in very high concentration. In some cases, the solid state reactions proceed stereoselectively by means of the inclusion formation of reactants with optically active hosts.
