Four tetraalkylethers (2a～2d, n-C~4H~9, n-C~8H~1~7, n-C~1~2H~2~5, n- C~1~6H~3~3) of p-tertbutylcalix[4] arene and the corresponding ethers of p-nitrocalix [4] arenes (3a～3d) were prepared in the cone conformation by the etheration with NaH as abase in DMF and the ipso- nitration. ^1H NMR show that all new calix[4] arenes are cone conformation.
