Abstract

Under microwave radiation the esters of lubricating oil weresynthesized by the reaction of 1,1,1-tris-(hydroxymethyl)propane or pentaerythritol with C₅ to C₉ carboxylic acids. The results show that the reaction timeunder microwave radiation is largely shortened and the reaction velocity increases ten to fifteen times. This method is very simple, and the structures of products have been determined by ¹H NMR, ¹³C NMR and IR spectra.
