Synthesis and Biological Activity of N-[5-(Pyrid-4-yl)- 1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl]-N'-aroylureas

In order to find highly active pesticide of heterocyclic ring, seventeen new aroylureas have been synthesized by the reaction of 2-amino-5-(pyrid-4-yl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole with aroyl isocyanates. The structures of the title compounds were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR spectra and elemental analysis. The preliminarily biological activity tests showed that such title compounds have a good activity as plant growth regulator, and 2c, 2e, 2f, 2i and 2k have relatively good activity of cytokinin.
