Abstract

Seven brominated dihydroxy diphenyl ethers have been designed and synthesized. Structures of new compounds have been confirmed by ¹H NMR, MS, IR spectra and elemental analysis. These new compounds have the advantage in avoiding producing the severe toxicity of dioxins in the course of manufacturing and using. The bioactivity testing showed that these compounds possessed good antimicrobial activities toward the tested bacterium.
