Synthesis, Structure and Biological Activity of N-[5-(4-Trifluoromethylphenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2-yl]-N'-aroylureas

Fourteen novel aroylureas have been synthesized by the reaction of 2-amino-5-(4-trifluoro- methylphenyl)-1,3,4-thiadiazole with aroyl isocyanates. Their structures were characterized by IR, 1H NMR spectra and elemental analysis, and the structure of 2l was determined by X-ray single crystal diffraction method. The preliminary biological activity tests showed that some title compounds have good activity as plant growth regulator.
