A series of novel bisoxadiazolyl sulfides containing 2-trifluoromethylbenzimidazol-1-yl group 3a～3j and the corresponding sulfoxide derivatives 4a～4j were synthesized via condensation of 2-aryl-5-chloromethyl-1,3,4-oxadiazoles (1a～1j) with 2-(2-trifluoromethylbenzimidazol-1-ylmethyl)-5- mercapto-1,3,4-oxadiazoles (2) followed by oxi-dation with HNO3. The structures of these compounds were confirmed by elemental analysis, IR and 1H NMR spectra.
