Synthesis and Biological Activity of N-(5-Mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazol-2- yl)-N'-(un)substituted Benzoylureas and (Un)substituted Phenoxyacetylureas

Twenty-one new (un)substituted benzoylureas and (un)substituted phenoxyacetylureas have been synthesized by the reaction of 2-amino-5-mercapto-1,3,4-thiadiazole with (un)substituted benzoyl isocy-anates and (un)substituted phenoxyacetyl isocyanates, respectively, and their structures were confirmed by IR, 1H NMR spectra and elemental analysis. The preliminary biological activity tests showed that some of the title compounds had good activity as plant growth regulators.
