Abstract

6-Hydroxy-2(1H)-quinolin-2-one is an important pharmaceutical intermediate for antihypertension and cardiovascular drugs. It could be synthesized in the ionic liquid of [Bmim]AlCl₄ and its esterification and allylation might occur with chloroformate or allyl chlorides in [Bmim][BF₄]. The new procedure for preparing 6-hydroxy-2(1H)-quinolin-2-one has the advantages of good yield, simple operation and environmental benignity.
