Tropos ligands, compared with traditional atropos ligands, have unique characteristics. Here, the development of several major types of tropos ligands, including oxazoline, biphosphine, monophosphine, bihydroxyl and N—O ligands, and their applications to asymmetric catalysis are reviewed.
