A series of 2,8-diamino-4,10-diaryl-di-γ-pyrano[2,3-a;2',3'-f]naphthalene-3,9-dicarboxylate de-rivatives have been synthesized by the reaction of aromatic aldehyde, cyanoacetate and 1,5-naphthalenediol in EtOH at 80 ℃ catalyzed by KF/Al2O3. The notable features of this procedure are mild reaction conditions, good yields and operational simplicity. The structures of the products were characterized by IR, 1H NMR spectra and elemental analysis, and 4h was further con-firmed by X-ray diffraction analysis.
