Gas chromatographic investigation of straight chain alkylbenzene isomers

Abstract

The resoln. of n-alkylbenzene isomers was studied by capillary column gas chromatog. Alkylbenzene isomers with different chain length can be separated by capillary gas chromatog. A linear relationship between the C no. of straight chain and either retention time or b.p. was found. The above is relevant to petroleum chem.
