Kinetic resolution of DL-1-tetradecen-3-ol utilizingSharpless asymmetric epoxidation reaction in the presence of various D-(-)-tartrate ester, diethyl (DET), diisopropyl (DIPT), dicyclohexyl (DCHT), dicyclododecyl tartrate (DCDT) was investigated, thereby affording (S)-1-tetradecen-3-ol with 90% to >99% ee.
