Synthesis, Characterization and Antitumour Activity of Diorganotin (IV) Complexes Containing Silicon of 2-Mercaptobenzothiazole

Six diorganotin(IV) complexes containing silicon of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole R1R2Sn(L)2 (R1=Me3SiCH2, R2=Me3SiCH2 or Ph, Cy; R1=EtMe2SiCH2, R2=EtMe2SiCH2 or Ph, Cy. LH=2-mercaptobenzothiazole) have been synthesized and characterized by 1H NMR, 13C NMR, IR, elemental analysis and X-ray single-crystal study. The results showed that ligand L acts as thiol tautomerism coordinating with tin atom, and thus the central tin atom was six coordinated in distorted octahedral geometry. The preliminary bioassay tests showed that diorganotin complexes of 2-mercaptobenzothiazole have a good antitumor activity in vitro against A-549.
