Catalytic Oxidation Reaction of Substituted 1,1′-Bi-2-naphthols with Copper-Amine Complex

Abstract

The complex of CuCl₂•2H₂O with small molecular amine as a catalyst for Domino reaction, which was a mimic to oxidoreductase, was reported. Substituted 1,1'-bi-2-naphthols were oxidized into dibenzoxanthenoids in the presence of O₂. The structures of these compounds were characterized with ¹H NMR, IR and FAB-MS spectra.
